Squeeze the pot well and turn the pot to the side and the plant will come out of the pot very easily.
Remove the bottom layer that contain large particles that helps drainage and save it for another re-potting
Clean the plant body with a soft bristle brush.
Release the old soil from the roots. Be really careful not to break the roots. We use the bold side of the brush.
This method is not recommended by other countries but it was the most successful way to re-pot for us since we live in the wet zone in Sri Lanka.
Add a layer of large particles of sand or stones for the soil to have good drainage
Make the soil with 4 parts river sand and 1 part compost
( without adding coco peat ) adding 1/4 part soil would be fine too.
Adding few granules of Osmocort ( Low Nitrogen) would be fine but with experience we learned that it did not make a big difference since the soil is too dry for the Osmocort to activate its slow release .
